My 6-year-old son says, “I love this book.†We just did our first five pages.I had to take his picture since this is the first workbook he’s holding close to his body. The first one he loves.I’ve invested hundreds of dollars into textbooks and workbooks for him. I’ve also invested thousands of hours of my time since I homeschool.We’ve gone through several math workbooks for the first grade so far, plus several notebooks that I filled with math problems.I bought this book since I saw pictures of pages and this is what I have been doing and/or meant to do for my son by hand. I’m tired of fillling those notebooks by hand and my son loves his tiger book. He just said, “I’m happy. I’m happy with it.†He’s sitting on my lap with the book as I type.I plan to buy all of the books in the series.My son doesn’t want to let go of this book. He loves numbers, and he found a book that helps him “acquire number sense and calculation ability,†as per the cover. He can feel it.Dream. Do. Math. Indeed.
My child just finished A4 and starting B1, although A1-A4 was easy to follow for her. She is having a hard time jumping from adding to splitting/combining numbers. Now I need to find some other workbook to cover the gap between A4- B1.

I homeschooled elementary school for many years and used different resources. All kids are different and some do well with a regular textbook, but one of my children enjoyed this type of smaller format, shorter book of daily practice. The layout of Tiger Math Level B - 1 for Grade 1 (Self-guided Math Tutoring Series - Elementary Math Workbook) isn't too busy or too boring, and as with musical instruments and so many other things, it is the daily practice that takes you to you goal. A very nice resource for kids.
Tiger Math Level B-1 is part of the 1st grade curriculum of Tiger Math. It covers splitting numbers 2 through 10, and adding to the numbers 7, 8, 9 and 10. The pages are colorful with only a few problems on each page. It is designed to be used 2 pages a day. The lessons should only take about 10 minutes. There is a small box on the top of each page to record the number of minutes the page took and the score achieved on that page.The entire series of books is designed to provide a sequential building up of fundamental skills. These books would be great in a homeschool setting or as additional practice after school or in summer.
